Student Board

Leadership

The Iowa Hillel Student Board works with staff to plan events, create experiences, connect with students, and build community. Iowa Hillel Student Board focuses on the following areas while taking on different initiatives:

  • Engagement & Connecting

  • Volunteering & Leadership

  • Learning how a non-profit works

  • Growing as a team

There are two additional roles that Board Members can serve:

  • President: the primary contact for Student Board, focuses on group unity, keeping the board focused, and helping focus by providing direction and perspective

  • Treasurer: tracks funding and expenses


Iowa Hillel Ambassador*

Student Engagement, Leadership

The Iowa Hillel Ambassador Program welcomes returning students to share their expertise with new students, and act as representatives for Iowa Hillel on campus.

  • Act as a Mentor to new students.

  • Give building tours, meet prospective students, and share your student prospective about the community at Hillel.

  • Help lead Cohorts as a "Teaching Assistant.”


Internships

Iowa Hillel provides unique internship opportunities to students who are interested in developing their skills. Hillel continues to update professional development offerings for students and this list serves as an overview of some of the ways students can get involved.

Birthright Israel (BICEP) Intern

Israel, Student Engagement

Share your excitement around Israel and Birthright.

  • Connect with students who would like to go on Birthright.

  • Act as a resource on campus for information related in Israel.

  • Create exciting & inclusive programming for other students to enjoy bits of Israel while at Iowa.

Kahal Intern

Israel, Student Engagement, Study Abroad

Kahal is an organization that helps connect students with Jewish community during their time studying abroad.

  • Engage students who have already participated in or who are planning to participate in a study abroad program.

  • Create programs on campus focusing on travel and a celebration of an interconnected world.
