Rosh Hashanah -Happy New Year!

Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, begins at sunset Wednesday, Sept. 8th and concludes at sunset, Friday, Sept. 10th. Hillel will host Rosh Hashanah Dinner and Reform, Conservative, and services.

  • Dinner, Wed 6PM at Hillel.
  • Reform/Conservative Evening Services (1st day), Wednesday 8PM at Englert Theater.

  • Conservative Morning Services (1st day), Thursday 830AM at Hillel.

  • Reform Morning Services (1st day), Thursday 10AM at Unitarian Universalist Society.
  • Conservative Evening Services (2nd day), Thursday 8PM at Hillel.

  • Conservative Morning Services (2nd day), Friday 830AM at Hillel.

    Israeli Films Return!

    Hillel is happy to announce the return of the Israeli Film series screenings! Award-winning and Internationally acclaimed films will be screened throughout the academic year.     AJWS Volunteer Corps Application Available

    AJWS Volunteer Corps places professional Jewish women and men on volunteer assignments with local NGOs in developing countries. Volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds and provide skills training, technical consultancy and general support.     The Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University presents:
    SUMMER INSTITUTE FOR ISRAEL STUDIES 2010

    The Summer Institute for Israel Studies assists faculty in designing new

    Israel Study Programs in Music and Art

    Rimon – Music Program

    The Rimon Music Experience gives a unique opportunity for music studies in Israel with an educational “Israel” experience. The Rimon school is a leading member of The International Associations of Schools of Jazz (IASJ) and the Berklee International Network (BIN). The program is 10 months from September through July.  The program participants are based in Tel Aviv University accommodation. .click here for more info..

    Bezalel – Art Program

    The Bezalel program will be running both a 5 month and 10 month options for the next sessions. The program starts in September and February. The Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem offers classes in fine arts, photography, visual communications, design and ceramics.     Israel Travel Opportunity

    The Livnot Journey - MASA

    The Livnot Journey is a 5-month program, part of the Jewish Agency’s MASA Israel Experience Programs in Israel. The Livnot programs concentrate on community service, hiking and study, seminars and workshops, and incorporate Livnot’s elements of experiential activities of exploring Judaism and Israel in an open and questioning environment. The program is centered in the Northern Israeli town of Tzfat, with a 2-month kibbutz experience built into the program. The cost of the program is $5400, of which you can apply for a $3000 scholarship from MASA, and perhaps find more funding from local sources.
